Plan Your Visit
Welcome to our information on your visit to the Discovery centre.
There are a lot of different events, workshops and activities on offer and it is not just for those who like Science or even STEM subjects.
How can we describe ourselves?
a) Interactive Hands-on Exhibits where the children can explore, push, pull and invent.
b) Colourful rooms and corridors with something to touch or learn from around every corner.
c) “Try and Test” your theory, ideas and even thought processes in a variety of ways and see what happens. That’s the power of Science.
d) Imagine an indoor play centre with a Science and Space theme where families can play and interact over new and exciting products, equipment and themes.
e) Events that spark interest and themes that you may not have explored before.
f) Workshops that increase and develop knowledge and excitement eg “Slime” workshop
g) Themed days where you may have a particular interest and this day would bring all of the enjoyment to one venue.
h) Not just Science!! Arts and crafts, toys, drawing, maths puzzles, conundrums and artefacts

Essentials for planning your visit.
- The building is on the Ground floor and fully accessible and including disabled toilet.
- The car park for our building is to the rear of the building and we ask you to park in our car park during school holidays and week days. During the weekend the estate is quieter and so parking may be at the front as well as to the rear of our Centre
- If possible we prefer that you leave buggys and pushchairs in the car as we have limited space in certain rooms, however, if you have a sleeping baby then by all means bring your pushchair or pram into the building.
- Booking ahead is always recommended as there are times we are closed to the public for big private events and also there are times when we are fully booked and so to avoid disappointment, always best to book!!
- We have a “no bag” policy for rucksacks or large bags. This is a security risk for other customers and so we suggest (other than handbags, man bags or baby changing bags) that all bags are left in the car.
- There are lockers to use if you do bring in a bag as it will not be allowed beyond reception.
- Eating and drinking your way around the Centre is not permitted and you would not do that in a museum. There is a picnic site outside near a lake and there is a café in the building where you can sit if you purchase drinks from the café.
- Please note we operate a NO Nuts, Kiwi or Strawberry facility and so making this a safe environment for our school visits. Anyone found to be ignoring this request will be asked to leave.
- We accept bookings up until the last two hours before closing each day. This ticket price will be the usual price and so you will be forfeiting the chance to be with us a minimum of three hours to play and explore.
- We operate a Family environment and we ask that families play together and explore what is on offer together. We are not like a soft play for example where the children run off to play alone while the adults “chill”. The idea is that you play at everything with your children and engage them in the activities. We are on hand to help and join in, however we are not here to “care” for the children but to actually engage families.
- Please presume that if allowing your children to go to the toilet alone in our Centre you are allowing them to visit a public toilet alone, which is your choice but not advised.
- We ask that you move around the centre as a family group and not allow the children to wander off on their own.
- Misbehaviour or damage to our Centre (which stops others from enjoying what is on offer) will be discussed with you if we feel we need to and you may be asked to leave with no refund if we find your behaviour or attitude is a threat and unsafe for other users. Damage to equipment may result is us asking you to politely curtail the behaviour and if milieus then we have the right to ask you to leave our facility.
- We are an “all inclusive” facility and we do our best to provide a good quality experience and service as well as making sure everyone has fun. As a facility we do not offer refunds for non-enjoyment and if you have feedback then please share this at the time rather than writing a negative review. Let us put this right for you.
Every Day is an Adventure and your adventure awaits at the Kinetic Adventure Discovery Centre in a safe, fun and friendly environment.
